AUTOBIOGRAPHY: El Sadiek Band from Guyana, is a unique formation of entertainers, singers, dancers, musicians and most of all the entertaining Sugar Cake Girls, whose performance will make any show unforgettable. The diversity of El Sadiek is to be seen and heard with their repertoire of Filmi, Chutney, Soca, Reggae, Hip Hop and Soul music, entertainment at its best! El Sadiek plays regularly at the Pegasus Hotel, Night Clubs, Concerts, Weddings, at Fairs and Outdoor Events. El Sadiek is exceptionally proud of their lead keyboard player, Shabanna who is the only female Indian keyboard player in Guyana and perhaps the Caribbean. Moreover, El Sadiek has one of the most talented young singers Kerida, just seven years old. She belts out Chutney and Filmi beats and has the audiences in awe as she amazes them with her performance. Added to this, El Sadiek provides entertainment for young as well as older audience. El Sadiek was formed 10 years ago by John Ali who was the lead singer. John’s music is international. His first release of the album, “SUGAR STICK”, in 1995 was recorded and produced in New York at Dynamix Studio, with his big hit “ABBA DE WITCH’. His second album, “LITTLE DARLING”, was produced and recorded in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, in 1998 at Stopro Studio. It was produced with the well-known Dutch artist, Ernesto van Dal. The CD and video clip of “LITTLE DARLING” was a success in The Netherlands. With the latest Chutney rage, El Sadiek released their third album, "STUPIDY", which is their first Chutney album. The album consists of seven songs, and has mainly chutney style, except for two filmi songs done by an Indian songwriter. El Sadiek did it again! They have released their second chutney album “GOOD FUH NUTTIN’ MAN”. El Sadiek is truly a band with a diversity of talent. They produce music for every taste bud, because their music is a crossover which can please any crowd. The album consist of eight up-beat chutney songs. It is already gathering pace in the North American and Caribbean markets. With great hits like Kerida’s ‘Sweet Chutney’, Sarah’s ‘Queen of Chutney Soca’ Sheik’s ‘Neighbour wukkin Obeah’ and of course the title song “GOOD FUH NUTTING’ MAN” by Fiona. All songs on this album, as well as all other albums are original songs, written, arranged and produced by El Sadiek. El Sadiek has come a long way indeed. El Sadiek has grown from a 6 man band to a 14 man dynamic band that is here to stay. Apart from singing in the band, John is now involved in the producing, engineering and sound effects. The shows that El Sadiek produces are very professional, dynamic and entertaining shows, the likes of international renowned bands. The Band is fully equipped with the best sound equipments, Ten QSC 4000/3000W Amplifiers, 32 and 24 CH Sound craft Mixing Consoles to name a few and over 20000 Watts of power, a massive stage, and its own transportation. John works in his own Music and Video studio equipped to produce, edit and record music and videos for the entertainment business in Guyana. From East Coast to West Coast, Berbice to Georgetown, El Sadiek has toured extensively in Guyana,. Their success shows in the demand for El Sadiek in the local and international music scene as the band plays in big outdoor shows from coast to coast almost two times per week. The band normally performs per five hours session and does a lot of Filmi, Chutney, Soca, Hip Hop and Soul music. El Sadiek has indeed spiced up the entertainment business with the performances of the "Sugar Cake Girls”. These girls are dynamic performers and they really put their all into making audiences, whether small or large, really entertained and coming back for more. El Sadiek is truly a band with a diversity of talent, they produce music for every taste bud since their music is crossover, so they can please any crowd. With the promotion and marketing strategy in place the band will be making great strides on the international scene. El Sadiek and The Sugar Cake Girls first overseas performance was in Trinidad at Chauganas on 24th November, 2000. This show was fantastic as the band played with Trinidad’s top bands. Black Rose, our Trinidadians neighbours couldn’t get enough of El Sadiek. Their second tour was in Paramaribo, Suriname at “The Flamboyant Park" and "Energy Night Club on 23rd November, 2001. This was an international show with famous Dutch bands, The Eagles and The Strangers. Their third overseas tour was to Trinidad at the “HI- RPM Night Club” in 20th July, 2002. This show was a big success. Their fourth tour was to Suriname at “The Flamboyant Part" and "Energy Night Club on 29th July, 2003. 2004- El Sadiek produced and hosted the first biggest Chutney Explosion Competition in Guyana which attracted Guyanese from North America and the Caribbean 2005- Chutney Rama 2 -, 3 big shows in Trinidad featuring the biggest Chutney bands from Trinidad – JMC Trivini, Dil-E-Nadan, The Sensationz from New York, ‘Kings’of Trinidad’s Chutney – Adesh Samaroo, Heerlal, The Hit Man, Roollal G and Rikki Jai among others. El Sadiek truly had the crowd moving during their performance at this big Chutney event and got excellent reviews about their performance from the music industry in Trinidad. And to quote the MC of the shows Big Daddy ‘The El Sadiek Band has come to Trinidad and delivered the goods, other entertainers should watch and learn how to entertain a crowd. Mission Accomplished! El Sadiek is also planning to do their first North America tour starting in Canada this summer. The band is schedule to tour in Suriname later this year.
